SIP for Business
Before deciding on implementing SIP in a business, the important question which the business needs to ask is "Is there a real purpose in moving to SIP based systems?"
If there is a real need to move into a unified communications environment where the business needs to have:
- Telecoms
- Video
- Messaging
- Software applications
- And hardware where the contact id (think phone number) follows the hardware irrespective of location
then SIP could be a real benefit. However if their current telecoms kit works reliably and provides value for money and covers the business needs, then it might be less important for the business to upgrade.
